Nancy Bailey founded Nancy Bailey & Associates, Inc., one of the first full-service agencies specializing in brand licensing programs for Fortune 100 companies. Nancy is considered a pioneer in trademark licensing and was the first to identify the concept of brand extension licensing, one of the largest segments of the industry today.
Nancy’s career began at The Procter & Gamble Company, where she was one of the first women in management. She has held marketing management positions at prominent New York advertising agencies and at Burger King Corporation where she was Director of Advertising, and Director of Kids Marketing.
She sold her first company to Warner Bros. Consumer Products. It was re-named The Nancy Bailey Company.
Nancy Bailey & Associates managed licensing programs for some of America’s biggest brands including many Procter & Gamble brands, Energizer, Coppertone (Bayer), General Mills, Pillsbury, Frito Lay, Crayola, Reynolds, Travelocity, USA Today, and Ocean Spray, among others. Under her leadership, the agency has implemented some of today’s most successful licensing programs for Vick’s, Febreze, Mr. Clean, Energizer, Pillsbury, Coppertone and Crayola to name a few.
In 2010, Nancy Bailey & Associates was sold to Omnicom (NYSE: OMC) and merged with Beanstalk, a global brand licensing agency. She served as Vice Chairman of Beanstalk thru 2015.
Nancy was inducted into the Licensing Industry Hall of Fame in 2008, the first inductee for trademark licensing. She was a charter member of the licensing trade association and later a Board Member of the Licensing Industry Merchandiser’s Association (LIMA). In 2010, Nancy was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
In 2014, she received a unique Career Achievement Award from The Procter & Gamble Company’s Business Development Unit for introducing trademark licensing to P&G which has grown to be over a billion-dollar business.
Her latest company, Nancy Bailey Branding, Inc., is a consulting agency specializing in brand extensions and other brand licensing initiatives.
